Steering problem

Second or third or even fourth opinion required!!
Over the last few days I have noticed that my steering has started to go stiff when steering at low speeds. It isn't as noticeable when engine is at normal driving speed.
I am assuming it is probably the steering pump on the way out!
I have no leaks and the reservoir is at max level.
Is the pump easy to replace and are there any how to posts on here?

Thanks

England

when you say stiff is it a low speed when turning tight corners and you have to pull the steering back in line ?

if so check your lower steering column bush

Hi
It's not mega stiff but it is noticeable and it feels juddery and not smooth.
Will check that tomorrow. Can I see it by taking off small plastic shield under wheel Arch?
Cheers

As Geoff says - new lower column required. Only about £60 and an hour of your time.

Just be aware, the bottom bolt is a Torx and will need a Torx socket for it !

Caught me out but I've got a set now Smile

Steve
Thumbs Up

Edit: Looks like the price has gone up Whistle

Very juddery and yes, sometimes have to pull steering back into line.

That is my job for tomorrow.
