I had a similar experience a couple of weeks after I got my D3. I was adjusting the EPB when a black VW Touareg pulled up outside the my workshop at the rear of my house. Bearing in mind that I live pretty much in the middle of nowhere, it seemed odd for this couple of Irish travellers to even be there at all.
The passenger got out and asked if I wanted to buy a generator or a compressor. I said no I don't need anything like that. He went on to ask if I needed any socket sets or other tools. I said that I wasn't interested and suggested he try the farm at the other end of the lane. They drove off down the lane but returned a couple of minutes later. Thankfully they drove on past second time. They were having a good look on the way past though.
I didn't think any more about it but I notice that the Discovery's alarm had been triggered over night a few days later. This all happened around 6 weeks ago now.
Might be time to activate the horn instead of the stupid sounder. Freelander SE 2005 Auto.
