If it is an auto, which I suspect it is being an HSE, then not bad at all.

Its good, mine is 22000 miles auto HSE and is averaging 24.9
Mine seems to have gone down lately. It used to be 26mpg, but since the holiday it has dropped and does not seem to be recovering.

The HSE I have currently is averaging 26.8mpg by the way. Did you get the results of the PDC I posted Gareth.

Yes I did, thanks, and it seems to be the same as the current cars. I was asking just in case LR had fixed the bug.
It is pretty useless having PDC that does not activate until you actually stop.
Its OK providing you don't use the drive away release feature on the park brake. I always manually release the PB, and wait for the PDC beep before moving off.

Yes, it is silly, as I have a manual, I had not come across that one.

Getting 33.2 mpg (manual) - over 3,500 miles now.
[This is as reported on the dash, rather than as calculated from the pump] Discovery 3 tdv6 7 seat Buckingham Blue
Had it since new - sold Jun 17 after 12 years and 214,000 miles

Kevin, the dash is not really accurate. Take some full to full readings, that will be the true MPG. Having said that, if the readings are quite frequent, it is quite good.

I know, I know...
Basically- can't really be bothered to do the sums, despite officially being a numbers person. It looks pretty stable, and watching whether the 'average' consumption is increasing or decreasing is a good way of encouraging gentle driving.
What it really boils down to for me is cost per mile. It was working out at less than 10p/mile when I was in Ireland over the summer- now it's looking more like 13p/mile in the UK. Still much better than my old v6 petrol mpv. Discovery 3 tdv6 7 seat Buckingham Blue

Yes, that is one of my main concerns. I was surprised at the fuel economy when I first had the car and for such a heavy one it is very good.

30.8mpg over the last 780 miles, TDV6 auto. That's using the dash though. I'm far too lazy to work out the real mpg...

In that case maybe dd_156ar needs to move his seat forward to put the gas pedal further down as that is amasing.

I must admit I'm quite surprised but it reflects the last weeks motoring - mainly A road at about 50-70mph and I have been trying to get good mileage... I think I read in an earlier post about changing up at approx 2000rpm and this is probably what's done it, along with lots of cruise control and no city driving.
In reality I think it will drop soon...
