High Quality Front Seat Upgrade
Having increased the use of the old battle bus to a couple of thousand miles per month, the basic XS seats were starting to feel more like church pews on each occasion I climbed in . Consequently, having replaced the seats in some of my previous Discoverys S1 & S2 with the Recaro brand, the search was on for an appropriate set.
This morning I bagged and collected a complete 2012 Audi A4 S-Line Black Edition heated half leather interior. Whilst the door cards and rear seat are superfluous, the fronts are perfect in terms of tick list of requirements with height, pitch and thigh adjustment, along with electric lumber (up, down and in, out), plus side airbag etc. Whilst the S-Line moniker is a little in your face, I can always dull that later if it gets to me :roll laugh:
Anyway, whilst I have manufactured a set of initial adapters to ensure everything fits and feels right in the vehicle with respect to seat-steering-pedal relationship (even SWMBO seems content they adjust enough for her ) I thought I would whet a few appetites pending the completion next weekend. I may even do a write up and include daylight quality images, if I can find a spares 30 mins.
Note: at the point of taking the pictures the seat is in the elevated position so that I could work underneath it before anyone thinks they are a lot bigger
