Auxiliary belt tensioners working correctly? They self-destruct frequently.

Hi Steve, thanks for replies.
I'll check the tensioners , but, changed with the timing belt at 165 000 km , now 206 800 km and play often in mud.. Maybe..
But I'd clean all..
Strange , this feeling is only when cold.. All fluids ok..Marco.

Last news.
After read someone about this, I'd try something , lot of WD40 on the steering column...and... Done, for the moment, all back to normal operation....
Seems the lower articulation of the steering column need many wd40 after play in mud.... Marco.

Have the same issue, steering a bit heavy at low speeds. Best description is lumpy. Anyone got pics to show where to spray? How much/what do I have to dismantle? And WD or spray grease?
If it were me Del, I'd WD it first to get some of the crud off, then spray grease afterwards.
But if it is notchy the chances are you need a new joint - sits somewhere below the aux battery box I think - never had to do mine, though I think it is on the cards as its not stiff, but am getting some play in the steering theses days. Mark.

That is what I did - good spray to clean and release and then massaged some white lithium grease on the UJ. Nearly crashed pulling out into the road as the difference was amazing.

So strip out the Aux battery box & look for anything that looks like a CV joint, then nuke it with the cans? It's not too bad at the mo plus I'm lightening up on the off-roading malarchie so might be something I can live with.
