So I am into 3 days of D3 ownership and have had my 1st trip back to the dealer today.
The airbag warning light comes on once or twice during a trip, and to cure it I stop the car and wait a few minutes and re-start, all is then fine.
They checked the car and it turns out to be that the driver seat airbag has a fault, not correclty and consistently showing 2.3 (amps, watts, not sure). Also it could be movement of the driver against the airbag, didn't think i was that fat. This will mean the seat being taken out and the airbag being replaced.
They have ordered a new one, maybe delayed but we are not sure why, just yet.
The dealer service has been great so far.

to be fair, that could happen with any mass- produced vehicle - although being less than 20 hours from collecting mine.....
at least the monitoring system detected it and will prevent it's premature deployment....
One thing that a lot of users forget is the fail - secure/safe systems in place on modern vehicles, if it had been something else... you could well have had a deployed airbag in your ear

Still don't know why they put them in the seat, when they are fitted with curtain bags as well.

well that's the modern ambulance chaser mentality for you  LR had to protect themselves in the US market somehow.... take a look at the US market spec on the LR site... 2/3rds of it is 'safety (read litigation) related'

Yes, again I agree, but it is a bit of an overkill. The curtain bags are much better than seat located bags. Plus putting seat covers on cancels them out unless you open a flap as the seat bags would not even open velcro.

Mrs. 10 has her own 'airbags'... or as I prefer to call them.. 'funbags'... they would definately withstand the litigation test  I think that the LR seatcovers must be capable of supporting the 'funbags' otherwise the state of califonia would have declared war upon Solihulll by now

Yes, but I have been told the velcro holds to hard and they do not always deploy. Its fine maybe off road, but on road?

Last week I took my vehicle back to dealer and said I had a "warning light on" and before I could say which one I was asked the question "airbag?".
A number of other vehicles being brought in for the same reason.

Drove to work for the 1st time in the D3, and no airbag warning light, could i have lost weight, is it because it's cold at this time of the morning!
Frustrating when it's intermittent.

Airbag turned up at dealer on thursday, came and got my car from my office, took a few hours to fit and since then no light.
great service from the dealer.

I was sent next to a Land Rover engineer at the weekend and she explained that as a cost saving they changed the airbag connector to a cheaper 'piece of tin' but that was costing them way more in warranty claims than the more expensive original design ever did...
She also went on to say that they were selling far more HSE's than anything else and that Range Rover's are set to get even more toys/more expensive as that is what customers are demanding...

When i ordered my car the 05 model was there so added lots of extras including the fridge, then my car turns out to be an 06 model and all is standard. The mud flaps were added to the car because i ordered them before the 06 came in.
I did try the lower versions of the car but like the toys.
