I have an 07, and I can live with the EML fault for now. I Just want to make sure they will fit?

Understandable! However I think I will order them online, as it is quite a drive from Denmark to the UK.
Will the EGR blanking kit fit my 07 model?
Currently my EGRs are a 4% position all the time, coded in the remap. But to be a 100% sure, I will fit the blanking kit as well.

It is moving/closing to restrict airflow when the EGRs are open, there is no funcction for it, maybe it will even restrict airflow. 2007 D3 2.7 SE Automatic

Re: Sluggish below 2000 Revs - emergency EGR Blanking |
|
Good morning all,
I had to tag along one of the millions EGR posts here and found this title very pertinent.
Firstly, thanks everyone, this forum is amazing. I wish I had more time, money and a warm space to work more on my D3. I had prepared 3 posts to be published here saying how much I love my D3 specially after 3 x 1000km of smooth ride (NL<->DK).
But today it gave itself up.
This morning it was very sluggish and would't move much from the parking lot. I stick the diag tool and my EGR bank 0 is stuck open on 90% (bank 1 is on 5%). Although the EGR is stuck open and ECU knows that (P0489 - Exhaust gas recirculation control - circuit low) I have no EML or anything at all, just lack of power at low rev.
I had planned to blank it when I return to NL as i did not have time to do it before.
My question is how reliable and safe if the emergency coin blanking? How long will it last? (estimated of course)
Bear in mind I will need to return to NL in 2 weeks (another 1000KM ride back) And of course my usual chores here on everyday.
Next question is, I do not have tools, space or much here to unscrew the EGR pipe. Can I just stick some EURO coin (5cents???) between the pipe and the intake housing? where that clip is?https://media.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/...131213.jpg
At this point, I am ok having some EGR leak as long as my D3 works.
Thanks for the help

Quick update on that....
Hurraaay... emergency coin fix worked a treat. However, 5 euro cents is too big... and danish krones have hole in the center.
So I happened to have a 10 Brazilian cents which worked perfect. The only problem i had only one coin, so... I blocked the right side which was 90% open and left the other as it was. power is now back to normal AND under normal circumstances no engine light.
The only thing is that on cold mornings (-2 to 5C) I have another DTC that trigger the engine light.
P045D Exhaust gas recirculation B control circuit - High
What is the difference between P0489 and P045D ??? Why one is high and the other is low? Where exactly they came from ?
ps.: I just found another 10c BRL coin and I will do the other side this weekend just in case.

Trying to remove my flap but the spindle will not pull out, is there a knack or trick to getting it out?

I have been thinking of doing this for a while but the spindle removal always scares me anybody got a step by step on what to remove and how to do it, i like the 2p trick looks easier than going down into depths down the sides also you get to keep the pipes so no MOT failure.

I’ve removed my pipes completely and capped both end, just whet through the mot no problem.
If I was at all concerned about it the pipes are two peace’s I’d remove the ends that fit into the throttle body as these sit in the airflow and will be gunged up and fit the caps. Then just put the other half of pipes back on these bolt to the tops of the EGR’s then clip to to top of the engine under the cover so all looks normal.
After some research on here one option if the butterfly spindle won’t pull out(and they have been known to break!) is to lock the flap in the open position with a small screw, this is the option I’m considering should the rain ever stop!
