Which battery will fit into my D3 |
|
I have had an Optima blue top D34M for 5 years and needs replacing. I have used it to power my Engel fridge. I would like to get a battery with more than 55AH though. Has anyone managed to find an alternate deep cycle battery that fits with around 75AH

You're talking about the Aux battery?
You can get an Odyssey PC1500 to fit. You will need to trim inside the aux battery box at the base, but it will fit OK and is more power than the Blue/Yellowtops usually fitted. Bodsys Brake Bible

I had a VARTA in mine...fitted neatly in the drivers side battery box..with the cover fitted ....even used the geniune hold down kit.
The car is gone now but it was a deep cycle about 60Ah from memory. Only ran an engel with it but never had a problem. I can try to find the details of it if you are interested.

I think the biggest is a varta, but needs fetling to fit.
Not sure but I think this one (check dimensions)

The Odyssey PC1500 is 68ah compared to the 60Ah of that one.
Only fine fettling is the ribbed section to the front (inside) of the Aux battery box Bodsys Brake Bible

I must be getting old...... I couldnt find the battery on any Varta website...looks like they have gone to AGM for all their deep cycle batteries..the one that I had was a Euro style low profile recessed terminal type....I tried to upload a photo of my install but had trouble ( getting older ) I guess you should have a good look at what is avaible now...
