READ ME FIRST: DISCO3.CO.UK Issues List
The disco3.co.uk Issues List is a database listing of problems and niggles with the Discovery 3 reported by disco3.co.uk members. It covers mainly UK problems, as disco3.co.uk is currently primarily a UK based site, although many issues will apply Europe- or world-wide.
This is not a definitive list, and should not be considered in any way official. The list is for information only, and neither myself or the contributing members are liable for comments or suggestions put forward to fix any issues.
The idea is for me to post each recognised issue in its own topic on this board, which can then be replied to by members to add relevant reports or feedback about the issue. General discussion about the issue, possible fixes etc should be posted in the original topic linked to in the first post of each issue listing, as anything important can always be moved!
To report an important issue, send me a Private Message (click here) and I'll see what I can do
Please drop me feedback about the system, it is in its infancy so please let me know any thoughts or ideas, however trivial.
Martin

how do I look up faults and fixes as did not get to any from look here first?
Bryson
I think the above post refers to any faults & fixes found in the early days and were then posted as 'stickies'
If you go to home page and look for 'Faults and Fixes' it's a matter of trawling through them, unless you have any specific issues which you could ask the forum for help.As you slide down the banister of life
may no splinters point your way

As someone who is currently looking form my first Disco, it would be great to have a quick reference list to browse through before searching out the detail.
I'll start my browsing marathon!

It'd be a full time job for someone to collate it all together.
Collectively everyone could help by putting things in the wiki but despite asking a few times, take up is very low.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!

P1807
Hi all, i have a disco 3 auto 2008 since about 2012, super car.
i now have a P1807 permanent code displayed, spent a week looking for the source without success,
general electrics condition as new. Car starts and drives normally for between 5 minutes or several hours until the instrument cluster lights up with transmission fault, limited gears, DGS warning light, suspension lowering, special programmes off, i pull over stop and restart all systems ok until the the same fault reappears, recently reoccurring more often.
when scanned U codes of 0401, 2023, 0416, 0402, 0416, 0100 are listed all clear except for P1807.
The stop light bulbs and switch, battery a year ago, have been replaced to no avail.
Im hoping a suggestion from a member may offer some help.
Thoroughly enjoy reading all members comments.

Thank you COO for your prompt response, i have spent days reading noting and comparing the information provided by so many enthusiasts, alas to no avail.
The only abnormally I've found is by using a souls pro scanner under live data the transmission (auto box) oil temp with FAULT in red on the same line but no recorded code at any other module!
Ive found the temp sensor is part of the megatronic unit within the auto box at a part cost of 1,200 pounds
I'm not a gambling man !
Back to the books and threads, thanks once again.

Disco 3
Dear Martin,
I would like to post a problem re a disco 3 dumping all its coolant after a hard run yet when refilled there are no leaks.
However, the Disco 3 site now says only moderators may post a new thread.
Am I able to do so or can I post one via yourself?
Kind regards

ABS coming on
Hi, I have a problem with my 2006 2.7 Disco 3 ABS. Whenever I raise the car and touch the steering the ABS comes on the front right wheel. It doesnt do it when the car is lowered, and drives ok.
I dont think it is the steering angle sensor as I would imagine that would happen raised or lowered, nor do I think its the ABS sensor as it only does it when raised and I have already replaced the front right sensor with no change. All tyres are good but the suspension pump is slow (but gets there).
Apart from this being infuriating, it is a deadly fault as I had a steering angle sensor play up a couple of years ago which decided to lock the front wheels at 40mph on a bypass! Damn near had me in a hedge. I dont trust the car at all now and the brake coming on again and locking a wheel makes me really nervous about driving it.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

LR3 top glovebox - will not close properly (seems locked)
Hi everyone - I am new to the Disco fraternity. I have already used this forum to solve the '3 spliced green wire' central locking problem and others.
The really annoying fault that sticks out right now is the rattling top glove box. It will not close properly, it seems to be latched closed already, whilst remaining open. Anyone know how to 'open' the latch to allow it to close properly?
Many thanks, Leroy.

Wet drivers side foot well
I have scoured forums for help with this. I have blown out the sunroof drains, all connected and draining correctly. I have checked the AC drains, no problem there. The sunroof has no issues and on a dry day I can pour a cup of water around the edge and it drains away just fine.
Still, my drivers side footwell gets
soaking. Passenger side is as dry as a bone and nothing in the back...
HELP...

Help please
Hi I’m more than likely in the wrong thread
Im new to this and anything like this I still use one finger to write messages 😂
I’ve got a disco 3 07 plate I’ve had major problems with it since I bought it 3 years ago , but I’m very hands on and stubborn.
About 8 months ago the air suspension gave up and after weeks of checking it all out with soapy water
I decided to change it to coil springs
I did this took about a week 🤣
Now when I drive it it’s started to make a grinding sound like the front brakes are trying to come on but then 2 amber warning lights come on and it drives fine
The lights are the triangle with circle arrow round it and the circle one with the pads at the side
Im really really stuck and any help would be appreciated
Once again I’m sorry if this is the wrong group or tread
