Can I Tell If My D3 Has Been Remapped By Looking At Boost
Following a split intercooler hose which I replaced last week I have been monitoring boost pressure via a Bluetooth OBD adapter and the Android Torque app on my phone. Also logging engine load, rpm, fuel flow and fuel rail pressure.
So from all this info could I work out if my car has been remapped before I got it in mid 2012. I have only driven one D3 I.e. mine so if it been remapped I wouldnt know. Note EGRs were blanked when I got the car so someone had an idea of D3s foibles.
I have been doing complex maths and analysis of military jet systems for 30 years so given some base data for one or more D3s I can probably make a good stab at answering the question.
The boost normally peaks a bit higher if mapped - mine hits about 255kPa - Standard is about 240kPa I think. That's absolute. You're tool might be in gauge. Mark.

Gearbox torque over rpm can be a clue, even if the numbers shown are incorrect.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
