Looks like the only reason it stayed up there was due to the disco's amazing suspension travel. Surely any normal car would have slid up against the post or perhaps off!!
Fingers crossed all is well. No doubt it can take a bit of abuse:thumbsup:

I would presume the alignment mounts attached to the wheel helped to restrain it.
Working under vehicles does carry risk and this is a reminder that even pro gear can fail. Every year a number are killed or injured working under cars and who amongst us has never taken a risk and not had the correct amount of support?
A reminder about our kids when working DIY from earlier this week:
Wow It was a bad day for you but it could have been awful day if the guy had been under it. At least it's only nuts and bolts and your car gets a free health check out of the deal. A shapely pair of legs is one thing but a nice bum is not to be sniffed at.

Wow! A timely reminder that even with the correct equipment, things can go wrong. I presume that the garage will be testing the inspectors Professional Indemnity insurance to the limit, and that the HSE will be interested in checking some of his other inspections.
Out of interest, how are you finding the IX35? It was a poor dealer experience earlier this year that led inexorably to me giving in and buying a Discovery. So far, I'm envying their drivers nothing except the warranty.

+1 for the comments that no matter what, most thankfully no one got injured in this awful accident / incedent as cars can always be repaired and replaced
Also +1 that the Disco took this in it's stride where lesser vehicles would have not.
You almost have to imagine the Disco thinking, gees is this a test, if so it is preety lame as we are not even moving
