Using rear camera on the move (forward)

Hi

I was on a tip run today and thought something was flapping on the trailer. At the junction I flicked into reverse momentarily to gain access to the rear camera to check and it stayed on for the next 10 seconds or so going forward which was useful.

No replacement for stopping and checking properly but it did get me playing with the infotainment to see if there was a way if pulling up the rear view whilst going forwards and I couldn't see anyway of doing so. Anyone know if it's possible?

Thanks

I would like to know also, I understand the RRS can do it, also the Evoque. I've had a look through the hidden menu but can't find anything in there.

If stationary or moving very slowly, press the parking sensor button to turn on the parking sensors. You'll now have the option on the screen to turn on the rear camera.

Turns off automatically when you increase speed.

I wonder if the speed trigger is adjustable in the CCF?

As far as I am aware if you open the camera bit on the screen and select the rear view camera and then click enlarge (top left I think) It will open the rear camera?

EDIT- This is only if you have surround cameras Thumbs Up

I have a 14 plate Disco without surround camera's and I can keep the rear view camera on at any speed. I just go onto the special menu where terrain response is and select the camera the select rear view camera and it stays on until I switch it off. Smile

From the Home menu
Press and hold the Middle of the top Grey Bar at the top of the screen for 6 seconds.
Then let go and Press and hold the text to the left of it that says Home.
Up will pop a PIN number box
753 enter and you're in.
Press Video Input Test button.
Press Rear View/Proximity Camera button
Camera On !

I just put a switch on mine in the circuit with a diode to stop back track. I use it quite often when I have my trailer on and when I want to know who is behind me at the lights.. lol. it works well.

Flack Thumbs Up

Fair Cop Guv Exclamation

That was for my MY10 D4 and I never tried it on a MY12. I had a go today but I couldn't even find a secret menu at all.

There is a Menu that is hidden, I've had a nose about but cannot find anything of use in this instance.

Hold the Valet key for 40 seconds, that opens up another menu.
