Scotland 2012 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Auto Firenze RedDiscovery 4

Went for 3 in the end.....probably 2 and a half cans in total.....thought it was going to take more when I started,as the first coat takes a while to hide the silver alloy....but once you start it covers nicely Thumbs Up
Got a few tips from members who have done it already,so thanks go to them Thumbs Up ....one tip of my own would be to clean the can nozzle between coats,as the first few seconds the next time result in some "splatter" but other than that all good.....
2nd tip would be don't do it in the wind or the card all flies out Rolling Eyes
3rd tip....don't do it on the patio (luckily I didn't) and if your going to do it in the greenhouse, make sure you rake the stones afterwards before your wife goes in Laughing

Looking good. How does it stand up to getting the tyre changed, would it damage it and how easy is it to touch up.

Cheers

after doing this on my last 2 cars & numerous alloys. I would strongly recommend doing more that 3 coats. Even though it looks "Finished" the more coats you apply the more durable it is & then finally if you are to remove (which you should really do after a year or) it will peel so much easier.

The first time I did my first car. I did 5 full coats. It peeled off ok but could've done more.

My 2nd car I applied 7 coats and the removal and durability was so much better and the colour finish was actually better.

I have used this product for over a year now and it is fantastic. I will be doing the D4 at some point just not sure what colour just yet Whistle !

Thumbs Up

Ah very good!

On a side note, here are the images from when I did my car.

Photos in stage of just applied / drying/ then done. Left the roof gloss back for a comparison.

I didn't use cans but I used 10 litres out of an electric sprayer.

Here is it peeling off. As you can see it came off as a full panel as it had enough coats after it "looked done"!
