In car cctv recording camera |
|
My daughter has just passed her driving test and she wants to install a camera that records all her driving a bit like this one but the reviews are not great on this particular device

Has anyone used one of these type of cameras and can recommend a decent one that works as it should, it needs to have gps location, a good wide angle view, very clear camera, etc etc
cheers bali blue disco 4 with rear dvd's, privacy glass, pre heat system, heated steering wheel, full size spare, piano black trim, ipod cable, 20 inch wheels and i love it loads more than my TDV8 RRS, KTM 250 EXC 2 Stroke for the real off road stuff

Generally the Blackvue models are the most favoured on here.

Search on here, there's plenty of threads on them. Not cheap, but good.

Just bought one of the E Prance Mini 0803 cams and have to say for the money they seem very good and have GPS. There is a very good review on techmoan.com of the previous model and the 0803 is better.

not as discreet as a blackvue, as mentioned above the blackvue gets lots of review here and several models to choose from although no screen built in to play back they hide on the windscreen behind the center mirror very well. Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

I have an Eprance 0801, just as, if not more discreet than the Blackvue, Has GPS for speed and location logging, Wide angle, Mic, 1080p and was about £50-60 quid
The Eprance are reasonably well used on the forum and people generally rate them. Personally I think they are much better value for money than the Blackvue. MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

now that looks neat, I don't see where the memory card goes if it takes one, but it has HDMI output.
do you have pic of it in situate, do they do a power box like Blackvue so it can be left on and as battery monitor shows lower level shuts down the camera?? Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

I'll take a couple of pics of mine and post up later.
You can use the Blackvue power magic box (mine should arrive on Friday) at the moment I've got it routed through the headlining, round the back of the glove box and plugs in to the passenger side accessory socket.
Once I have the power magic then it'll be a piggyback fuse off the due box and permanently wired in to run for a number of hours after engine off and the power magic will shut it off if the battery is being affected. MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

I've just bought the mini 0803 and for the money its great.Only used it twice so getting used to it and cannot fix the mount permanent until new windscreen is fitted. You can hide it behind the rear view mirror in a Disco and the memory card slots into the side of the body. If you look on techmoan.com there is a glowing review.
I thought I would try one of these and if I like the idea progress to something better like a Blackvue with rear camera as well.
