Minor Misfuel - Can't believe I did it
I'm going to France in the morning, so decided to fill up tonight. Stopped at a BP and.... you guessed it got the ultimate pumps mixed up. I put 60p worth of unleaded into about a 1/4 tank of diesel before it dawned on me what I was doing . I then filled up with diesel (about £70 worth).
I'm hoping this will be ok, although I'm intending regular re-fills to further dilute.
Does this sound ok? or should I do something else?

Will be fine!!! I'm sure the pump gets to 60p by just pushing air!! Don't worry about it, it's such a small amount of petrol it shouldn't do any harm at all. Did same with D2 with 5 ltrs with no harm done.
To guarantee no problems bring us all back a bottle of the red stuff!! Wish I was there, mouls & frites and lots of sunshine, ah the memories!!!

A friend of mine works at a garage and regularly has the vehicles in for mis-fueling, when it's a petrol car the petrol/diesel fuel usually ends up in his 200TDI, it does smoke a bit tho.

Tesco delivery drivers did that lots, if the fuel was lots of diesel and a little petrol it whent in my 300tdi, if it was lots of petrol and a little diesel it went in the s111, petrol,. it just goes to show how green LR'S are re-using old fuel.

Well I'm sorry to break the news, but it shouldn't be 'a load off your mind' at all.
Just think of the repercussions?
Once you run down that £70 worth of diesel.
You'll still be left with that 60p worth of unleaded.
It's got to burn somehow!
Now to chuck in my 50p worth, I reckon that's when the damage will start/end!!!!
only kiddin, of course...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Cant be sure with more modern engines of today ....probably not a problem at all.
On older diesels many engineers use to do it regulalry to flush out the fuel system with no problems for the engines at all. In fact I seem to remember that the mixture allegedly improved performance a little too.....
( DONT anyone go out and try that now and do something silly to their engine just coz I said )

Cobblers, just make sure it doesn't get addicted to petrol. The old diesel engines got addicted to 'Easy Start' so be careful
