RAI query
If you look Here there is an indication in this statement....
Quote:
Please note, for 3.0 twin turbo model Discovery 4 you will also require LR013711 & LR020024 for a totally water proof system.
...that it becomes a true snorkel ...is that correct? Has anyone tested this out?21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I have that on mine - I don't believe its totally waterproof as the air box still has vent valves in it where water can be sucked in.
However, if water gets that high in the engine bay, you'll have other problems to deal with first !!! - ECUs etc..Duncan

I had this issue when ordering mine
I was advised that when purchasing the RAI I would need the additional rubber pipe which was an extra £50 so went along with it
After pulling the old rubber pipe out( ) I examined it against the new one to find there was no difference at all between the two
I contacted the dealers to question what was going on and why I had spent £50 replacing like for like?
The answer was "that's strange, I'll look in to that" which to this day I have no answer
But to answer your question it is definitely not water tight by a long shot
