Temporary EGR valve blanking. |
|
I have ordered a blanking kit and already know I need to get a remap.
I have been suffering from intermittent loss of power for a few days with no fault codes, however tonight it finally through a code, and the no 1 valve is sticking 92% open.
As this is a temporary fix I wnat to make sure I get the correct valve first time round, so can someone please enlighten me on the EGR numbering 2.7 TDV6 Discovery 2007/8 model. Also what do I use as a temporary blank for no more than a week.

Any help appreciated, I need the vehicle over the coming weekend, otherwise I would wait and fit both.

I'm sure I have heard of ppl using a 2p piece.
I guess they go at the top of the engine.

I used a couple of 2p pieces for a few weeks, without issue.
You will notice a different drive once blanked however but a re-map should sort you out. Mods:

From the airbox, follow the EGR pipe down to the valve and you'll see two bolts in the flange. Slacken them off and slide the 2ps in. They clamp in place once you tighten up again.
Be warned, you have to centralise them to ensure successful blanking. Mods:

Any idea which side the B valve is. Im assuming RHS when viewed looking at the grill standing in front of the vehicle.
I have some 3mm steel plate I should be able to knock something up, if copper is a no go. Where would I fit, top throttle body or bottom valve outlet.
