2000+ miles in 2 weeks
I have just returned from France in my new Disco and have clocked up over 2000 miles in the first 2 weeks after delivery. I am impressed with the fuel consumption 31-32 mpg on average, the drive and general performance was excellent, my only niggle is the lack of comfort in the front seats either reclined or normal, the headrests seem to be the main problem. I will read my manual again now I am home to check on adjustments etc. As the Disco is perfect for long journeys in every other respect, the basic manual seats were disappointing.
As for image 8) the dark colour and privacy glass may have contributed to being pulled in and searched on the way out and also on the our return, the only other time this happened was when driving a white mercedes sprinter
However I am delighted with the Disco and feel I have made an excellent choiceAllie

The lack of comfort does seem to affect some and not others. Get your husband to sell his bath tub and let you have the better seats DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Are the seats in the Basic different from the seats in the S? I have an S with cloth seats and find the driver's one very comfortable.
My wife will be the main driver of our D3 but I had to sell my '05 Boxster to get it.
Your husband is a lucky guy to have two great cars at his disposal.

croyde, the S and below are the same spec seats and I with slimer find them dreadful. LR are going to alter my seat, once th car is going again. When I am offroading, visibilty is aweful because I have to have the seat low (which is against all offroad principles) to stay in them on steep decents otherwise it shoots me down into the footwell. They place serious pressure on the spine, ankles and hips.
SE and above are brilliant seats.

Would it be that the MY06 has better seats as although I have not been off road, the seat feels fine after an admittingly short 2 hour drive.

No they are the same, with the lever down on the side to pump it up and down. The problem is that it pumps up and tips the occupant forward into the footwell.

My L R dealer has told me today that the fixed headrests are a result of the airbags design and line up with them, i got the impression a number of people have the same issue with them.Allie

The zimmer is the only thing that keeps me in the seat.
