Hi
I use several other sites and all load in seconds. This is the only site that takes so long.
While this takes yonks to get to you I'll try looking for updates as you suggest.

It is a bit starnge, your connection seems to be fine and other sites load okay so hopefully it may just be slightly out of date software that can't cope with the stuff coming from DISCO3.CO.UK, unless AOL doesn't like us for some reason The End

Could be the firewall, does the site seem to load quicker when it's off? The End

The site seems to load at exactly the same speed regardless of whether the firewall is on or off. I have also added this site to my approved url list to see if that made any difference - it didnt, but the site is a lot faster now. Ill wait for the next time the speed decreases and do the tests again.
Cheers,

I also had the speed problem but was advised to use Internet Explorer and it reverted back to normal speed. There is something strange with AOL
because if I use it it reverts backback to the snail like pace

I have notice this problem on a number of other sites over the years so don't think that it's a Disco 3 thing.

Hi Guys
I have spent the last couple of days trying to sort out why the site is so slow when accessing via AOL.
I have defragged - cleaned up - cleared browser cache - dumped temporary internet files - closed background programs, all to no evail.
Finally e-mailed AOL and they recommended accessing via Internet Explorer while in AOL.
IT WORKS
Don't know why but it'll do for me - at least until an IT expert can convince me otherwise.
If you are experiencing similar problems give this last resort a try.
Regards

AOL DNS cache is pants for updates, it may be routing through the rover web redirector plus they also use a proxy cache to 'improve' connection speed
firewall's will not cause any slowness as the site is using the standard HTTP port, some of the routing looks a bit long - winded though
Which version of AOL software are you running?
