Diff Guard Worked OK

Here are some pictures of the experimental Discotech Rear Diff guard that was fitted to The Red Pearl. I have just removed it from the car after the trip to Morocco. As you can see it has suffered, however it has protected the underside of the car so as far as I am concerned its done its job.

It looks like it certainly saved the diff from a good hammering......

Out of interest, looking at the damage, what material is/was it made from?

Only 6mm ally plate. And it did get some stick at one point we rolled over a rock that was hidden in the in soft sand at the bottom of a dune, luckily I hit it centre of the car and it rolled as we travelled over it. The rock/boulder was big enough to actually lift the rear wheels off the ground.

yip, upside down under the sand, well it was for a while. The guard was so bent it was actually pushing the diff up and causing the propshaft to rub on the tank heatshild. So it had to come off.

mmm, food for thought eh.

Worth putting diff protection on the christmas list IMO

Andrew - do you have any pics of the unit installed? I am searching for a solution for my "hanging pipes" after fitment of the long range tank and removal of the plastic shields.
