Car Security Bypass.

Just heard today on Sky News about an electronic gadget being used by car thieves that enables remote takeover of the cars security system enabling keyless entry and button starting without any force being used. Police are advising going back to low tech security like the bars clamped to the steering wheel? Has any one else heard of this and whether or not Land Rover have an answer, like an electronic blocker? Half of all upper end motors stolen in the Met area are being stolen by this method. The device originates in Bulgaria and is available on the internet.

Shocked Cheers Lukey.

I heard this on the local radio this morning, they mention what you described, and then mentioned that keys can be cloned very easily. So whcih one is it? Sound slike scaremongering amongst the media to me (touch wood Laughing )

They're on the auction site and range in price from a couple of hundred quid to £6-700. As I was told years ago. "locks are for honest people". Thieves will eventually find a way to relieve others of their possessions.

Having lost both sets of keys for a car and watching a professional outfit turn up with a small van with internal workshop, and within 15 minutes have opened the car and supplied me with two sets of original new programmed keys, yes the technology is out there. Thumbs Up
