d3 distribution in sydney |
|
I heard a rumour that d3 ownership is concentrated around the hills area in sydney. On an ordinary day I would be lucky to see one but the past few weeks I have seen at least 4 different ones around the hills - se and hse. Today I saw 3 in mosman - though they were only s and I saw 2 at chatswood both hse
I would have thought mosman d3 owners would have to have hse or pick the stickers off so you can't tell.
Any thoughts??

I don't have mine yet
I only got the hse because I need the rear air and I like electric seats. But I too am from the west/inner west
Saw a nice looking Atacama sand and I'm assuming buckingham blue? (dark blue) in blacktown today. I'm getting more and more jealous every day I have to wait

Mine is from down south as well, but I work in the hills district - so that might account for one.
Well, it is in the hills district when it is actually on the road...
Permagrin has changed to permafrown...

Yeah Jonesy what happened with the diesel pump problem? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Why the permafrown? Cause the truck has been off the road for about 3.5 weeks out of the last month. So, 3 months and 11,500km of trouble-free motoring - then one month of hell. I might have more to say about this if the dealer can't address the laundry list of issues I had...
Diesel pump? D3 back last Friday, after failing on Easter Sunday. Goes a lot better now - or maybe I was used to the Td5 and the old P38 V8. Idle seems to be a bit high - (can't find the idle speed in the manual!), which is causing a slight thump in the auto gearbox when changing down to 1st gear when braking. One more trip to the dealer...

Sorry to hear of your problems.
Sounds like the dealer failed to set the engine and pump correctly.
What other issues have you had? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Hi CaverD3,
I dropped off my D3 at the dealer today to have couple of niggling little things fixed - hazard light switch broken and look at idle speed/rough change into 1st when stopping. The service department rep mentioned that there might be a service bulletin covering the latter.
What other issues have you had? Apart from the above - the CD head unit died. Spent about 4 hours all up on phone over Easter when the fuel pump died. Had to pay for hire car to get myself home after pump failure.
Anyhow - the dealer sent me an apology letter today and offered to reimburse me, as well as offer fitting of an accessory as a show of good faith.
As long as the pump does not die again - and leave us stranded in whoop whoop, I am happy for now.
Cheers,
Rob

Sounds like the dealer did the right thing by you at least.
The gear change from 2nd to first appears to happen on mine after stopping usually as there is a small lurch then.
Soon to be the proud owners of a D3;
SWMBO was just made redundant. so we have to pay out the lease
Forced to get some Cooper HT+ tyres as the ATs will not be available until July and we put the tyres through the lease before we pay it out.
Dealer said they would have another go at the wheel alignment under warranty. Told them to wait till I had new tyres. In tomorrow for wheel alignment under warranty.
Air con has started to fart. They said they have anotherone in for the problem and is a major job, but is being done under warranty. That one can wait for mine.
I have a list of mostly minor issues which have been fixed under warranty without a hassle. Outstanding is a deformed seat base and the farting.
Nothing has ever stopped mine. Yet. Including large rock crawls mud and water.
Still have Permagrin. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
