Splice... No Luck!
Intermittent locking & unlocking scenario with both remotes. So re-did the splice thing with the green and white wires - still no improvement. Any fresh ideas what the cause may be?

I can't help I'm afraid but I've been having the same problem with mine. I've no sunroof so it's probably not the splice on mine, notwithstanding the fact that it hardly rains over here in Perth.
I even had the inside out to check, it seems to work for several goes the suddenly, no response...
I might try the hard reset tomorrow. Will let you know how it goes.2011 D4 SDV6 HSE

Thanks Marmoset,
An update: I got hold of a spare battery via eBay (came from Hong Kong), opened my remote and had it soldered in place. So far so good. All I can think is that the old battery became unchargeable. But then again I could go for weeks with the previous battery with no trouble. Only time will tell.
/Cheers

Both my fobs had new batteries in 4-6 months ago. I thought about this a bit more last night and we used to have a Focus that required the central locking control unit to be unplugged every now and then to apparently remove some kind of static charge. After this was done it would work for another several months - perhaps that's what the hard reset achieves? 2011 D4 SDV6 HSE

I've just figured out that I needed to insert a piece of card in between the board and battery, so in my instance having too much pressure on the battery to board was the reason for failure?#*!?2011 D4 SDV6 HSE
