Doesn't fill you with confidence
So the dealer, Guy salmon, had my new 4 month old car in for 2 days last week to fix a turbo fault - which they didn't
The very next day after picking up the car we drove 500+ miles up to the Highlands on holiday. Yesterday my 15 old lad lifted the bonnet to show his uncle the engine.
Well from here on in you can imagine my reaction at what I saw
How can you not realise you've forgotten to re fit an engine cover after the customer has driven away and there just happens to be one on the workshop floor
Top main dealer tip; If you can't easily remove the battery cover, just rip it off tearing the plastic and don't bother to clip it back afterwards
Guess which Dealer Principle will be getting a phone call in the morning !!On a mission to find the perfect Pork Pie. Just Found it (I think)..(Yes I have)

Sadly highbayrack, this type of thing is all too commonplace, in the early days of my D3 ownership I had similar experiences with not just one LR dealership, but practically every one it ever went to. I was actually relieved when out of the initial 3 yr warranty, so I no longer felt compelled to stick to franchised clownships.

Sadly all much too common place....
My first LR dealer service after purchase the inter-cooler hoses were left off - found when I tried to drive off the dealership into rush hour traffic....
Went straight back in and collared service manager and mechanic - both just shrugged.
Another service and after a few miles the steering wheel began wobbling - think motorcycle 'tank slapper'. Thought it was flat tyre but no, the wheel nuts on both fronts were hanging off or finger tight.
Wrote to DP who tried to insinuate it was my fault - like I'd stopped and loosened them myself
Now I do as much as I can myself - anything I couldn't I'd contact one of the guys on here.I see no ships........

Ive not used this dealer for about 5 years since it used to be Hartwell and they were bad enough then I thought when it changed ownership to Guy Salmon about 12 months ago that things might have improved, but clearly the inmates are still running the asylum On a mission to find the perfect Pork Pie. It's not just landrover dealers that are crap. I took my passat to the Volkswagen dealers for its annual service and the large plastic tray that sits under the engine fell off on the motorway.
Failed to tighten the wheel nuts up properly on my brothers volks as well.

Hate to think what they do to the bits the customer can't see.....if that's the way they leave the bits they can see .......not very impressive...."Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Shocking that they are getting away with this...
I can't afford to take my D3 into a main dealer for servicing but so far I've found a lovely 8mm swivel head ratchet spanner, some kind of slide hammer thing jammed under the transmission guard and a quality posidrive ratchet screwdriver behind the glovebox. If anyone works at Pentland Edinburgh where the car had it last £13k of servicing done-thankyou!

The numpty they have on the service desk is a complete idiot!
I wouldn't trust those fools with my weekly shopping let alone my Disco.
I took my FFRR there a few years ago to have the instrument cluster replaced. On picking it up they had put a kph cluster in and not mph D4 HSE Lux - Santorini, Privacy, RLD Protector

I may have mentioned this before but Beadles Sidcup once checked over my Disco 2 before family holiday in Spain. Almost new vehicle. Got to Spain and after mountain descent daughter in back said there is loud banging which I also could hear. When checked at roadside I could turn ALL nuts on ALL 4 wheels and nearly had a fit considering the mountain we just drove down with one being seriously dangerous. Upon return challenged Beadles who asked where I had been on holiday " Oh yes we have heard of someone going around that part of Spain steeling wheels". I asked them if I looked like an idiot but they did not respond and I have never had a service there since. Had to use them for emergency repair/diagnostics recently and that was possibly worse but I'll save that for another thread.
