They were held in place by a ring cut out of an old bit of steel pipe , and welded on at the top and bottom ....This stops the springs moving sideways.
They can't come out top / bottom as the trailer travel won't allow
Please check your measurements though ..as mine is a wide track .G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

As you can see in the previous pic I posted I have two dishes already that have sloped edges, so if I got the right diameter then they would just sit nicely in the pans? or would I need something welded in just to hold them?
Sorry for asking a stupid question but to measure the free length, I assume this is the gap at the moment and then I add on the lift I want and that is the length I order?

I will measure my gap and then add the lift I want as that seems to make sense

Got all the brakes finished today
Also got the chain stays on the lower section of the kitchen. Put the insulation in one door and sorted the gap I had in the door seal where the fridge was
Also measured up for my suspension. So with all the weight now the suspension gap where the springs will go is 4". If I jack one side up this increases to 5/5.5" before the wheel is lifted off the floor. I would roughly like a 2" lift as that will then make the wheels sit correctly in the arches. I put a jack in and jacked between the frame and the spring and managed to get it to about 6.5" but did not want to jack anymore as thought I was going to bend the frame work

If you mean out to the towards the taps then about 400mm but if you mean from the opening to the rear of the trailer about 150mm not actually measured that last one though
