Ahhhh
So today my adapters arrived and I thought yay
Then I remembered the conversation about threads
So took a wheel off today and tried to fit the adapters and no luck
The tread so the nuts securing the adapters as suspected is M16 and the hub threads are old imperial 1 1/16" so damn close. You can get one or two turns but no more and obviously I don't want to cross thread it.
So...... My option now is to change the threads on the hubs. However these are not cheap the normal 45mm length are about £5 for 5 but the 60mm designed for wolf wheels (which are the ones I beleive I need) are £35 for 5
So questions:
Am I right in thinking I need 60mm long studs?
If so can anyone find them cheaper?
And the final but most important question how do you change the studs? Is it as simple as knocking the old ones out and pressing in the new ones?
