With Derek just heading for 100k miles he’s just a youngster on his thread, however, really enjoy the positivity on how these motors can go….and go….and go (specialty as they were made by Brummies during the rule of the unions)
For the sad ones amongst us, I just did a quick tot up on the latest list, between the posters we’ve clocked up almost 21 MILLION miles, the equivalent (you know there had to be one) of 43 round trips to the moon, or 840 trips around the equator!

OK ... having had a feeble bash at this stupid task a few months ago, I had a eureka moment last weekend and started again.
Not QUITE done yet but I've extracted all the unique entries in the thread, worked out who posted them, which member's car they were about, converted kms to miles, found lots of typos ... and probably introduced some errors myself. 'puters are also poor at reading 1st November 20014 7:19 pm as anything other than random characters, so that took a bit of processing.
They also convert membername marc7 into a number that must mean 07 March ... not sure which year though and can't be RRRR'ed working it out.
Currently finding highest mileage recorded for each member/car (even hugeviking's Ford Focus !! ) then extracting vehicle details in "standard" way. Kona_221 obviously did this in the past but several contributors have messed that up beyond belief.
I had not realised there were so many different thousands separators in use across the globe, nor that some PCs have a "skill" for inserting special characters into text when copy/paste/quote is being done. (probably fruit-fuelled things and not proper PCs )
Anyway, hopefully done in a day or three then I will post 1st pass on here before attempting to merge it with the PROPER VERSION that lives in the wiki..
