Hi have a 2009 D3 which I need to replace the left hand egr valve.
I have purchased it along with the two gaskets ready to do the job on Monday.
My question is Are the any tips and tricks that might be handy to know to complete the replacement?
I have watched a youtube video showing the complete job on the other side , which looks simple enough! Is there anything on the other side I should know about that might help me?
Any help would be appreciated.

i have just last saturday replaced egr on the left side. having done the rh,side a year ago. mines
a MY2007 . the left side is more difficult allow at least a day if you are an amateur spanner man. you have to remove the battery and tray in bits to gain access. i removed the valve leaving
the cooler in place. A flexible screwdriver type socket, to release the back torq screw is a must.
please feel free to contact me with a pm, so you can call me and i can tell you over the phone
Hi megla
I have tried to pm you but am not sure it has gone as it looks like it is still in the outbox and not sent box!
If I could take you up on the offer of a quick phone call as I have come up against a probably easy problem to solve.
Cheers Al.

Just an update to this topic.
The job isn't that hard really. The only one must have item is the bendy 1/4 socket bar.
Without it I reckon near impossible without removing bundles of parts.
Job all together couple of hours and now running perfectly.
Two things I will say that might of been some help to me was that once you have unbolted the egr from the engine and you are trying to get the bendy bar onto the rear bolt, don't be afraid to pull and hold the egr out so that you can get it in there.
It will move more than you think it will without damaging it.
Also when I refitted the new egr I replaced the rear torx bolt with a normal hex bolt as it is easier to hold the bolt in a small socket when refitting it behind the valve.
Thanks for everyone's help.
