Cam Belt
i am having a problem with my first ever D3 i just bought it at 180 000kms and the delear is telling me that they need to do a four day cam belt change costing 1300usd on labo only, Rear Diff needs replacement its noisy, torgue converter needs replacement the car is rattling on third,Total 9300USD.

Oh i also forgot they need two days of diagnostics costing 260USD, to check for other faults. I have to drive the car back to South Africa where i bought it i guess, they seem to have better service rates.

Regardless of how much your local dealer wants to rip you off (4 days to do a cam belt and 2 days diagnostics, anyone? ) then I think your D3 is in the VIN range for a potential oil pump failure.
So, when you get your timing belt done, I think you would be strongly recommended to have the oil pump replaced at the same time.
