There is a high end Car audio place here in NZ that will install a Navibox-2 into my '13 D4 and all controlled with the factory touchscreen. I don't think the directions that come up on the cluster will work though and it uses an independent GPS antenna. Maps are iGo and unit runs Win CE 6. Price is very high but the units can be found on Ebay for about $150 whereas this audio place wants $1500 just for the unit.
I have a Chinese 8" touchscreen in my Outlander with iGo and it is superior to the Land Rover Nav.
Anyone have experience installing these on Land Rovers? Special wiring harness needed? Plug and play? Black pack, Traxide D4-1U with jumpstart, Whispbar Rack, Nanocom, 285/50r20 Cooper LTZ's, Side steps, NZ spec-no DPF.

No, I can not justify the price so I'll wait until the maps needs updating and make a decision then. Black pack, Traxide D4-1U with jumpstart, Whispbar Rack, Nanocom, 285/50r20 Cooper LTZ's, Side steps, NZ spec-no DPF.

VS2
the reason why I am looking at it as Land Rover in SA is charging me R 4500 (496 NZ$). I think why that company there by you charge you so much is as far as I can see is that you need to install a GFIV unit as well to make it work.
Because i do not think that the LR screen has a AV input in the back.
For me I think this Navibox might be a beter option I think.

I want the full touch screen capabilities as well. I like the iGo maps here in NZ. I just know it can be done for less $$. Here is the link.

HI vs2
Thanks for the info, is that price NZ$ or US$ price?
I am defently looking at this, as far as I know it is simmerler to the Garmin unit that was out on the market a couple years ago, and the garmin worked through the GFIV unit and had full fucntion on the touch screen.
I will email these guys and see what they say, because I also like the IGO software.

Hi vs2
Seemslike it cannot be done, as rapitradio does not answer my emails on it (3 of them), so normaly if they don't want to answer then it means it cannot be done, that what I think, it is a pitty.
I would really like to have a add on replacement unit. I know garmin use to do one, but has been discontinue it. The garmin one use to work with a remote control. The screen act as a monitor only, you had not touchscreen function, and that is good for me as well, as long as I can have better maps, that is all I am looking for. Here in SA we can only find 2010 maps, no new updates since then that I can found.
The dealer tells me to go to the navteq website, and the navteq website referece me back to the dealer
Cheers
