I'm very surprised you got a D3 round the bottom, but well done .....the sign at the start said unsuitable for vehicles above 1.8m wide......we decided that wasn't a D3.....
Brilliant couple of days, and thanks once again to Dave and Stephen for organising

I KNEW YOU COULD GET A D3 DOWN THAT LANE!!
That lane is getting done next time!
The D3 walks up parkamoor, it is laughable how it finds grip and as long as you have a superb spotter like i had, keep a steady throttle and it will slowly walk up it with minimal drama.
Although getting through those walls is rather interesting, there is all room for the car so you need a spotter each side but doable.
Plus the Look and 1 fingerd salute from Dave at the end when Team luxury set the cruise to 70 and drove away was priceless. Again. In loving memory of FA54WSK.
Rest well old friend, your work is done.

I won't recommend going through that gate. It took me about 30 minutes to wiggle my way through. The lane is fab but there are two points where it gets very tight. It's not impossible. It's just a bit risky. I had a passenger which was my left rock spotter.

What a great 2 days. Fabulous scenery and the weather was to die for after all the rain we've had. The lanes were very challenging even in our 90's and the d3 and d4 guys have a big heart squeezing them between those narrow dry stane dikes. Again the defenders acquitted themselves against all that electronic wizardry that is a d3/4 and we all had immense fun . I would heartily recommend the Cumbrian green lanes to anyone wanting an adventurous time with their vehicles in beautiful surroundings. It's what land rovers were invented for. Many thanks to Dave T for organising it and to all the guys involved in the trip for their excellent company. Only one casualty who had to retire with a busted water pump and they reluctantly finished their trip courtesy of the AA relay. never mind. We will be back. And you can do it all again. again the Windermere Manor hotel did us proud with fabulous accommodation great dinner and an even better "Full English" the next morning which fortified us al for the day ahead . Even the drive north back into Scotland rewarded us with beautiful sunsets as the elusive golden ball in the sky slipped below the horizon. Roll on the next trip down there . I for one will be booking my place in advance. Oh and one last tribute! To the nice walking fraternity who even held gates open for us to pass through!Discovery 3 2006

I had a text from Marvin, unfortunately the AA man replaced their water pump, so they left around 7pm for the drive home.

Sounds and looks like a superb trip was had.
I too am really impressed that you got a D3 down Sadgill. I have taken a 109 Series down there in the past, and it is extremely tight. I have also heard lots of bad stories about the owner of the house calling the police if you so much as tickle his wall on your way round!
Having said that, Uncle Ray (RLD) did once boast that he got his 130 Hi-Cap round there with the help of a high lift jack!
Plus the Look and 1 fingerd salute from Dave at the end when Team luxury set the cruise to 70 and drove away was priceless. Again. Wink Laughing
Thats one of the outstanding capabilities of the D3/4 you can do the lanes like you did and jump on the motorway and cruise home, not many cars can do that just with a few switch change positions.
Some good shots there and looked like you all had fun.

Yeah, car has a nice layer of mud and dirt along the bottoms.
New sliders got christened as well..
The tyres have some cuts in them but nothing bad. Will be changing them in a few months anyway.
Have left it with my local garage today to change over the rear prop shaft and put a new filter on it.
Also averaged 24.7mpg overall. Highest reading i've had since the end of November..
Looking forward to seeing more pictures and videos. In loving memory of FA54WSK.

The guy and his wife did come out to make sure we didn't touch his wall. He doesn't want nobody touching the wall at all because he has had to rebuild it 100s of times due to inconsiderate people just ramming there way through. I for one was very carful not to touch the wall or building. It's only the superb full lock a disco 3 has and lots of shunting that got me through. I wouldn't wanna attempt it again.110 and discos stay clear. 90s can get through at a squeeze.
