Where Do I Need To Look Now |
|
Hi
Went out to read my codes today, and I have the following:
Engine Management:
P0196 engine oil temp sensor circuit performance (intermittent) - feel I need a new sensor maybe?
P0578 speed control multi function input 'A' circuit is stuck (intermittent) - no clue where to look?
Ride Level:
C1A33 rear left control valve (intermittent) - most likely due to me having to repair the wiring as corroded wire, and not being able to clear the fault until today.
Body Control:
B1B70 local interconnection network bus circuit 2 - no idea where to look here?
Fuel Burning Heater:
B1D29 no start, even after repeat attempt (intermittent) - do I need to purge this out?
These are the only codes listed that are not comms related. 11 codes total wete listed on Nanocom.
Does anyone know where I need to start with the code rectification for the above areas please?
Also, in the suspension calibration screen on the Nanocom, is the reading in mm - if so, should it read the values listed in some threads between center of hub to under wheel arch or does the reading corralate with something else (i hope that bit makes sense)?
Thanks for your time.

What are the 'real world' issues?

Hi
First history, all codes were cleared a couple of weeks ago, so this is what has come back on the system.
The oil sensor fault has reappeared, so I assume this is faulty sensor?
The speed control fault - need to understand what that code relates too.
The body control code - again, need to understand more on what thus fault is?
The FBH is not cutting in, the codes were cleared previously - but it is back, so need to understand where I need to look now. Do I need to purge - if so, how is this done etc?
As for suspension, I am after information about what the system is actually reading (nanocom), before I reset the heights as there are differences in all wheels.
Regards

I think that Stu was asking whether or not there is actually anything wrong with the vehicle,ie when driving. All modern cars store a number of fault codes which, in the real world, do not necessarily translate as 'problems'. Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE
Previously:
TD5 Defender 110 CSW (230k miles)
300TDi Disco 1 (289k)
4 RR Classics (300-350k each, 2 manual, 2 auto)
110 V8 CSW (220k)
S3 109 hi cap pickup (ex RN)
S2A 88 Safari SW with lpg conversion (bloody lethal)

Replace oil temp sensor first - only costs around £25. The faulty sensor can cause various problems - if you do a search there is some good info.

Hi
I was advised that the U codes are the ones not to worry about, but the ones with another letter mean differnet things, and should be investigated. I do not drive the vehicle gery often as it is the wifes car, and like many things - she wouldn't know if the car was driving different or not unless it broke down completely - hence my quest for more of an understanding.
Obviously the Fuel heater is not working, so I will look further for ideas as to what I need to do with that actual fault. The others, I am trying to ascertain what they relate to, rather than wait for a potential shutdown of the system they are linked to.
Cruise control does not work, but since codes cleared last time, we have not tried the switch, so I doubt the speed control fault is linked to that.
My logic is that if there is a preventative step to avoid the complete failure, which could happen at a more inconvenient place, it is better to try and work that way.
