D3 Steering Wheel buttons

Hi guys

I have a 54plate D3 - the buttons on the steering wheel for the audio and cruise have always been a tad temperamental but have now packed up altogether. They only seem to work with the wheel turned to the 10 O'clock position.

Any magic fixes?

Cheers

It's probably the clock spring/rotary coupler that has failed rather than the switches. Bodsy had some for sale a while back for a decent price. Thumbs Up

I had the same problems - were fixed by replacing the switch packs. I did get hold of a clockspring but didn't use it.

I think if you do a search, you will find that some people have managed to fix the problem by just cleaning up the contacts on the switch packs. Thumbs Up

cheers chaps

excuse the ignorance, but presumably by 'cleaning the switch pack contacts' you are referring to where the cables are plugged in under the air bag (did do a search but can't find any other threads!)

cheers

Sorry, can't help on that one as I took the lazy way and left it to the garage to sort out. Embarassed

Maybe someone more knowledgeable on here can help with that...

Thumbs Up
