2014 MY HSE - rear centres console USB socket missing?

Title self - explanatory. I was expecting to find this underneath the flap just below the middle row air vents. Imagine my surprise etc when I find nothing.

Did I forget to tick an option box or, as I think is the case, did the factory forget to fit it? The manual and spec list both indicate that it should be there, but is it only fitted with the rear seat entertainment package?

It's been moved in preparation for the InControl Apps which will be installed where the USB socket used to be in pre-2014 Discovery 4's.

Seemed to me from the manual (p139) that there were supposed to be USBs in both locations.

Anyone got them?

2014 MY Product Brief clearly states USB and Aux Connector have been moved from cubby box to glove box to make was for In Control App from 2015 MY.
Rear seat connectivity is possibly linked to rear seat entertainment or highest spec models. I'll have a look at an HSE Lux next time I'm at work as we've got one on loan at the moment.

Just had a look at mine, it's got both, glove box USB and rear USB socket together with 3 AUX's and a 12v empty lighter socket. Got RSE, btw.

I have a USB in the rear of the console, but mine is 2013 MY lux, with RSE, so may not be relevant.

No it isn't, I have a HSE without RSE and I don't have the USB in the back.
I don't really care as I don't need it but when I picked it up the dealer wanted to show me the rear USB port and was surprised it wasn't there as mine was the first MY14 they had.

Checked 2 2014 Discovery's today, one an HSE and the other an HSE Lux with RSE.

Only the HSE Lux with RSE has the rear USB port fitted.

So it seems RSE is the key! You'd think the dealers would know this:)

For cars without RSE then, would a retrofit of just the USB/aux panel be possible? Ie is the wiring loom still under the console box there somewhere anyway? Or is more complex, if it needs to hook into park or the screen / audio unit up front?

Might still be a useful feature to add for rear passengers to have the ability to play audio from back there, and also somewhere to charge an ipad/iPhone/iPod etc off back there, particularly if you're running iPads as your RSE???

If you read some literature it still says they come with two USB ports like the old days - but they don't (unless you have RSE clearly).

It is a little bit of a pain, we used to be able to have songs on one and my wifes iPhone in the other.

You could always get a USB car charger which fits into the cigarette lighter socket. You can also get a twin USB charger which plugs into the cigarette lighter socket. Sell them on Amazon.
