I've been watching this thread with great interest and have read a heap on the subject, but one thing sort of puzzles me. I read the BAS install info and basically you are removing the pipe from the EGR to throttle. Is this correct?
Why not just seal up the EGR pipe from one side? Or am I missing something here?

Many a school holiday catching the carp in the Kimbolton school lake. Used to grow uo in Keysoe so know the area well. Drop a pm to Geoff, next time his North on the A1 am sure he will do them for you. Takes circa an hour depending on the butter fly valve. If i am honest i cant notice a difference since blanking but rarely use the car compared to my wife. I do know i wont be replacing the egrs again !

Mates used to let the clays off at Riseley, thats going back some years ! If u ask Geoff nicely he will also clean your map sensor at the same time. Mine was bad but seen a lot worse on here. Geoff is a top guy, coffee, bacon rolls. Way forwards

Yes the Riseley boys (Sporting Targets) are still there. The white Horse pub is no longer here in the village, turned into a dwelling! Crying or Very sad

Local is The Plough in Bolnhurst if you ever went there for a drink.

I've Pm Geoff, hope he likes food! Lots of gamey pies here Laughing

Totally confused about EGR blanking.
Till last month mine was working correctly, but the last check showed that one of them was faulty.
I don't feel any change in the behavior of the car, accelerates as well as before,, there is no noticeable smoke.. The consumption is a bit higher, but now it's winter.. (12.3 litres/100km in city use)
The question is: change? blank? live it as is, or what?
I recently have read this article
http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=112612
and as an engineer i think - because I must think:) - that one thing is engineered for the car it must be the part of the car. I mean how can you throw out something without changing the software of the ECU?
About the temperatures, it is an interesting question also.
Is there anyone who blanked it and used at least 60.000 miles since that?
I am trying to live with responsibility for the environment, so it is a telling argument to not to blank it.

The point when cylinder temps will be highest, is under full throttle.

At full throttle, the EGR's are closed

Whistle

Blank them, and forget about them Thumbs Up
