poor handling, wallowing ride

Hi all

my d3 cornering is pretty poor. Quite wallowing though we are talking country roads. Front end has had new lower wish bones and arb bushes. I put on 20inch alloys with pirelli tyres. Dropped the ride height by 10mm. 4 wheel tracking. No knocks or bangs but just doesn't feel right. I was wondering if it is rear wish bones and thought i would do rear arb's first as that's cheap!!! No bump steer from the rear...i think anyway. I am wondering if it could be tyre related as they are 109 load rated but was hoping to use the tread left on them. Would it make much odds over a 111 load rated tyre?

also, the big sump guard panel is missing. This will be replaced soon thanks to a fellow forumite. Does this offer much structural support to the chassis?

i do get lost comms with dynamic ride controller (or something like that) fault code quite often? Its all a bit confusing really. Any pointers greatly received. Thumbs Up

Sump guard panel is made of plastic. Definitely zero structural value.

It could very well be the rear end wishbones and ARB's.

Finally, I know you are probably expecting this... but here goes. The D3 is not meant to take twisting country roads at high speed. It weighs 3 tons and has a soft suspension and a relatively high centre of gravity, so body roll will be much more than the average car and can be unsettling for some.

I've had all bushes done and still feel uncomfy in some corners. Unless I win a forture and change the air springs and dampers just to be sure, I'm going to have to live with the assumption that it's the laws of physics that are at play and there's nothing I can do about it except slow down Thumbs Up

Thanks for the reply and appreciate the comments.

I'm pretty sure the sump guard is a big metal panel though???

Thats correct, the engine sump cover is steel but the transmission cover is plastic.
