19" road biased AT's

I know that this has likely been asked and asked and asked but i cant find the answer having searched.

I need some new tyres for my D3, which is currently on scorpion zeros. 255 55 r 19

95+% of my driving is tarmac, with the odd need to drive along farm tracks, pull a trailer out of a field etc.

If scorpion atr's were still available, I would put those on. Are there any similar equivalents? Ideally, I would like the low road noise of the zeros, with a bit more grip off road in case I need it, and that last a bit longer than the zeros. realistically, I am not going to be changing wheels/tyres summer and winter.

Failing that, are there any road based tyres that wont embarrass me when it comes to the occasional offroad task that I have and that i will get more than 20k out of?

Worth importing ATRs? Can't remember who online does them but seems painless process.

that is my other option- they are available from one place at about 190 a corner.

I just wonder whether they really are the cure all.

i was typing my post, and put 95%on road. Then i worked out that meant for every hundred miles that I do, 5 are offroad- i bet that i wouldnt do 5 miles offroad in 5000!

Sounds like my use for them, except my offroading is usually a week in the Pyrenees or the odd Salisbury Plain trip. . As good on road as a road tyre, no added noise or fuel use and ~50k from a set. Plus haven't had an offroad puncture yet. I just can't understand why the muppets at Pirelli don't sell them here. Rolling Eyes

The discerning tyre. Thumbs Up

Cooper Zeon LTZ do the trick for me in the same situations as you describe.

The LTZs look a bit too "off-roady".
What's the impact on mpg versus normal road biased tyres, like for example HP Wranglers ?

More aggressive tyres will use more fuel.

Can't say I like the LTZ in the wet.

But if you drive to the conditions and your ability most tyres are fine. Thumbs Up
