Whinning noise
I have a 2007 Td3 and have had nothing but bother since buying it about 9 months ago! When first bought, it had a slight noise like the brakes binding. Over the next few months the noise got louder. I have had it in the garage as we thought it was now the wheel bearings needed doing. 2 wheel bearings later, the noise was still there and it was suggested the noise was coming from a bearing on the drive shaft. Had that fixed today and the noise is still there albeit slightly quieter. Now been told it is possibly the bearing in the gearbox.
Has anyone any ideas please?

As far as i know, they havent been checked but it is sounding more like a wheel bearing noise than the brakes binding on.

Noise doesnt appear to come from back end. Seems to be where you are sitting or near the front

Diff should be easy enough for a garage to check, put it on a two post lift and while in drive listen to each diff in turn.GAP IID Pro Multi Vehicle Defender L316 2007-2015 - Discovery 3 - Discovery 4 - Discovery Sport L550 - Freelander 2 - Range Rover Evoque L538 - Range Rover L322 - Range Rover L405 - Range Rover Sport L320 - Range Rover Sport L494 Electrical Fault Diagnostics

You will be paying £££'s at the main dealers (stealers)
You will find with the help of the forum you will get to the route of your whining problem
There are some very knowledgable peeps on here and I myself have saved
£1000's in repair costs n self mods
Stick with it and use the corsa to grow your tomatoes in
