as far as i know, blocked oil ports will lead to
seizure of bearings, e.g. piston bearing, main bearing
or crankshaft bearing. finally seizure of any of those
bearings should lead into cracking a piston rod, which
means also a massive engine damage,
but not in cracking the camshaft itself.
it scares me to see those pics.

Don't you think you are being a bit alarmist, after all my crank is fine so I don't see how this one can be broken, has it been verified by at least 6 different independent engineers that its actually broken or is that only your opinion

I thought there had been a brace of failures due to the shells rotating, blocking the oil ports?
Or have I missed a key point?

Sorry to hear this.
Yes, definitely contact Land Rover. Not sure if you have seen this but might be worth a read and might also be worth getting in contact with "Pete@LandRover" on here to see what can be done.
Worst case scenario? You become a victim of the mysterious "Enhanced Customer Handling Procedure".
Good luck,

It may be worth contacting LR. They recently released a new bulletin, highlighting an "enhanced customer experience" or similar, on cars with bottom end issues
