One way is to (I think) lift D3 to extended height, place axle stand unerneath and lower suspension, the D3 will try to lower then realise that it's stuck, then rise up to super-extended mode.
There's way of doing it with some tools as well (Nanocom etc)........Forgove me if any of the above is wrong as not tried it presonally Iggy/Ieuan

It would be nice to be able to force the car into Super-Extended mode from inside the vehicle, without resorting to any tricks like axle stands under the frame. If it was a feature of the IIDTool, perhaps hidden away in the menu tree somewhere.
Actually, forcing it into Extended mode is the hard bit, the Super Extended is easy.

Just to bring it back on topic - in the end i chose a different hotel up the hill! When you reaslise that the weirs in Marlow are disappearing and starting to look like a little ripple in the water, you realise the volume and speed with which the river Thames is flowing. I thought I would give a low lying car park a miss.
Now, back to raising the suspension ......... what were we saying?2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.
Here are the instructions I had previously found elsewhere to reach "super extended mode":
-apply brakes
-press switch to "lower/access" and hold for 3 seconds
I haven't tried it yet, but I'm curious why the instructions would have you press to "lower/access" instead of raising the vehicle to extended mode, then holding the switch for 3 seconds in the "raise" direction.LR -- 2005 LR3 -- Zambezi Sliver

Don't know where you got that information from - if you lower the suspension to access height then press and hold the switch in the "lower" position for 3 secs, it will lock the suspension at access height. Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

If you have suspension issues it may go into extended or if you put a block of wood underneath and drop it (in any height), it will go the extended height.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
