To use my bottle jack in a more safe way I asked a firm in Cape Town to make an adapter.
They did and for 250 Rand the bottle jack connects now into the original jack holes of my Disco 4
See the pictures
Well done - looks like a good job for £13.70 / 16.5 euros / $22.5 US.

Shot boet, can you please provide details of the shop which made this? I just got a bottle jack and would also like an adaptor made.
Thanks!--

Mmm, I have a Merc Sprinter bottle jack, the one that leaked was replaced FOC. I also have an adaptor for the trolley jack.
Is that the Clarke adaptor? Does it just on the top of the bottle jack or did you secure it?2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Yes it's a Clarke adaptor drilled out and pinned with the roll pin from the sprinter saddle.

Robbie was selling these and so was a well known auction site (I think they used Robbies pictures) a search for jack adaptor will give you the link. When I got it I got the bottom part drilled out for the inner piston on my bottle jack and its secured by the original roll pin, you just have to ensure the load path is transferred to the shoulder on the inner piston and not the roll pin. The locating roll pin hole on the jack is bigger than the roll pin so the adaptor can 'float' so the machining doesn't need to be within a thousand of an inch.
