I think it is more like the casting has failed damaging your tensioner!

Could I ask you to email me with your VIN and if possible any photos.

Removal of the oil pump case needs a special tool.
I'm doing some work into this issue, so if you are taking the engine apart yourself, I'd be really grateful of receiving the pump case for further analysis. Thumbs Up

Nigel said no one had the Balls yet to go into the I'm not contributing section Whistle

So then I rang Steve aka Bodsy ! And told him if I did this others would become upset and maybe it would have the desired reaction !

Don't worry, I'll be participating in the middle section Thumbs Up

You need the camshft locking pins and the Crankshaft locking tool that locates in the flywheel housing. You also need but not essential the tool for inserting the Oil seal on the crankshaft, its a pig to get on, I have done a couple early on that leaked, but since buying the Land Rover tool there not a problem.

with the tensioner failure but cam belt not broken - do any of you know if this will mean a engine rebuild ?? garage is not confident that repair of this tensioner and a new cam belt kit will get the engine started again??? or do think its fooked???
