Hi Everybody
I'm in the process of convincing myself (fairly easy) and SWMBO (more difficult but I think a test drive will do the trick!) that we should buy a Disco to replace my L200 which has been a reliable but rather basic and uncomfortable on and off road drive. Can't make up my mind whether to go for a late model D3 (bottom end of budget about 20k) or stretch to a relatively early D4 (top end of budget 30k).
Having had expensive problems with the DPF in a previous motor, I really want to avoid any model fitted with one. I believe from a search on here that they were not fitted to any UK D3s but were introduced fairly recently on the D4 - but I can't work out exactly when - anybody know for sure please?
Any other advice on the decision what to go for most welcome - TIA

Non UK Spec D3's might have had it earlier, but it only became standard in UK in 2010 or 2011 on D4's Dennis

It's a bit more complicated. My D4 was a demonstrator regd July 09 before release. It has a DPF but then it was an option. Because it was fully specced it had the option. How foolish of them! Brian - East Sussex
