it is a really strong burning smell, to the extent that I was peering down under the dash area expecting to see flames or smoke, but nothing, and its clears after a few mins (5 maybe).
The last time, I was cruising up the M40, so if it was an outside smell, surely the airflow would have taken it away from under the car. This smell, I'm sure, was coming in via the ventilation system.
If the DPF does this every 450 miles, that could be in 2 to 3 days if I do Brum to Bracknell 3 days on the trot. I'll try and see if I can put a mileage figure on the times it happens again.
