First tyre replacement on D4

Hi all, our D4 needs at least 2 new from tyres having covered just over 26k miles. Current tyres are Goodyear M&S - 255/55 R19 on 19" wheels.

The car is used mostly on road but with weekly trips with horse box across muddy fields etc.

I am going to shop around but Pirelli ATRs seem to get good write ups on this forum.

Forgive my ignorance but is there anything specific I need to ask the fitters to do - for example should alignment always be checked at same time ?

I am Glasgow based so any recommendations from others based near here would be appreciated.

Peter

Just fitted 4 Pirelli Scorpions M&S and after a full Hunters tracking at Kwikfit it drives quietly and today I went off road up a farm track and they performed really well Smile

Check your existing tyres, if they are all pretty much the same (even) wear then I would have thought that there is no need for a four-wheel alignment. On my D4 which has only done 10.6 k 3 tyres were at 5mm but one front one was at 2.5mm so it's booked into LR next week for a 4-wheel alignment as none of the local tyre fitters could do this.

I ended up having 2 new tyres on the front as one of my rears (at 5mm) was punctured right on the inner edge Rolling Eyes

I use Performance Tyres in Ayr as they are quick and usually the cheapest. I think they have a branch in Glasgow. I also use Goodyears which have never let me down even in the mud.
Do the 4 not need changing?

PS I've never needed the alignment.

Thanks for the replies guys. I will check the wear on all four tyres and take it from there.

PerformanceTyres branching Carmunnock (Glasgow) is very handy for me.

Can only LR dealers do 4 wheel alignment if that turns out to be necessary ?
