Advise please on HDC fault

About 14 months ago during the cold winter i kept on getting the normal xmas tree and HDC faults and as it was in the minus range after reading all on here thought it was battery. Just about to changeithe battery and it warmed up and all year has been good. Believe battery is original and its a 05 plate.

Went on trip to London and ext temp said 8 degrees and after 100 miles got the bongs and its come back. As i can,t get a battery till next weekend tried the hard reset but did no good. So going to change battery regardless but then realised 2 days before had changed the front H7 blubs for the Osram nightbreakers i had got from Steve at AF. I know the brake bulbs can cause this fault but as many of you have also bought the Osrams wonded if anybody else has had this issue after swapping.

On a positive note the Osram's are bl Censored dy brilliant and glad i bought two packs from Steve. If you have not swapped them then do Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Are you getting lots of lights on the dash, loss of terrain response + HDC and suspension lowering?
Did this occur during your drive or upon arrival?

seems strange it happened en-route if it's the battery, normally a start up issue? If it's the original battery on an 05 it's probably due for a change anyway.

Hi Narpy,

It just happended as i was driving 70 mph down the A1 after aleady doing 60 miles. All symptoms as you said occured as well as amber parking light. No speedo but rev counter works. So have no suspension, Big Cry .

Normal when iti happened before you could clear by turning the ignition off and then turning back on. But so far this time it has not worked and fault is hard on, which is why i did a hard reset.

Ideas Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

TBH, I was going to ask if you'd had any suspension work done recently as the steering angle sensor often needs recalibrating after such rework and will cause the main symptoms you're currently experiencing.
However, in your instance, especially because you also lost your speedo and you can't get your settings back by turning off, it sounds like something is getting or has got wet and is causing random faults.
You'll have to check behind the battery to make sure everything is dry and possibly the front near side wheel arch. There's a number of connections behind the wheel arch liner which are prone to get wet and cause a whole host of random errors.

Good luck with it. Thumbs Up

Guys,

Codes came up with a few issues and so swapped the Rear ABS sensor cable, Brake switch, to be on safe side . Aslo got the drop arms done and this fixed my clunks, another story.

No codes on show so any ideas please. Don't want to go through replacing everything. Have also checked what narpy said above.

Any advise really appreciated

Thanks
