Beanie is building a grille for me when he gets back from holiday. I was wondering if anyone has a scrap of the RRS shadow material. I'm trying to match the color to do some painting on my headlights when I detango them. It just needs to be a scrap unless someone knows a source for the paint. I'm in the US, but will pay the postage to get here.
I could probably get you the paint mixed at my body shop supplier and post it over with the grille?Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Beanie, you're supposed to be on holiday. Not reading the forum.
I was trying to get a head start before you get back and ship it.
How close is the BMW paint vs. Having some mixed? It's going to be used for the inside of the headlights which will be real close to the grille so if it is off, it might be noticeable. Then again it might not be because of the plastic over the lights. The Rover is Bonita Grey. If they BMW spray is not noticeably different than the grille, I can probably get it here. I'd rather not get it in a spray can since I'd rather use a gun.
Thanks,
Ron

I took a sample of a shadow chrome off-cut into my local Halfords ( UK motoring supplies retailer ).
They stock hundreds of different spray paints in various shades etc. and from various vehicle manufacturers. I trawled through the whole range and the BMW sparkling graphite was the closest shade. I've since used it alongside LR shadow chrome and it's fine, more than close enough for me.
It does reflect the light differently at night ( you can see the sparkling bits in it ) but I think most paints will do this under sodium lighting.Mods:

Thanks Narpy,
If that's the case, it would probably easier to by it here then messing with shipping it overseas. It's also easy to get mixed here since it's a stock BMW color, A22. I'll check with my paint guy to see if it's easily available.
Thanks,
Ron

So I fitted my grill today as converted by Narpy. Looks great and the quality of the conversion is spot on. Glad I did not attempt it myself. It really does transform the front.
Top job, thanks again Narpy.
