EPB noise

When I apply or release EPB their is a noticeable 'weiring' noise. Now I haven't had the car that long but is this how it should be or does it require some work on it? Thanks Ben

If it sounds like this, then the module is jammed:

If it makes a constant screech, it needs stripped and checked, then adjusted correctly, as per Bodsy's brake bible

Further to DM advice if it is a faint rotational whirring and doesn't screech then this is how they all sound so nothing to worry about

Humm, just been under mine today to check as I was getting a small clunk noise when the EPB pull the last bit on when activated;

Not to impressed to find that both sides where they are suppose to run through some grommet supports above the rear chassis arms where NOT IN THE MOUNTING!!!, some garages need a good kicking!!!

bit of silicone spray and slip out of the eye carriers at the lower swing arms and manoeuvre them back into the supports, then back in the eyelets again at the lower suspension arms. Thumbs Up

noticed one of the eyelets is almost worn through too so have to pick up the one paid for at the stealers last week for one bolt fitting Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

a lot quieter now as the pull go straight to the hubs and not the cables moving about Thumbs Up

Should sound like a cordless drill driving a screw to a stop.

Guess where the electric motor is from….

Ok thanks for that it does sound a bit like an electric drill, just checking that's all as you hear noises as you go on and don't always realise they were their before!
