Auto box slipping when cold |

I only have my D3 a couple of weeks and it is my first car with an automatic gearbox. The gearbox is slipping when the engine (+gearbox) is cold, is this normal? 154000km/ nearly 100k miles on the clock.
When I start from cold (in the garage, not extreme cold) the D3 does 80km/h(50mph) in 6th gear at 2000rpm. This only for a few minutes, when everything starts to heat up, 2000rpm in 6th makes the car go 120km/h(75mpg). Once at operating temperature everything seems to be normal, no noticable slipping or shudder.
Is this normal behaviour or time for Dr. Tranny or worse: a new torque convertor? 2017-...: Disco II Td5 auto, 1999, BAS remap, HD TC and auto box Ashcroft, Allisport IC, ACE, 2" lift only coils, BF goodrich KM2 265/70R17, FF front and rear bumper, TF steering guard and tree sliders, nanocom.
2013-2017: Disco 3 TDV6 HSE aut. of 2008, Britpart treesliders, IIDTool, RLD sump guard, BFG KM2 265/70R17, adj. rods, BAS remap + EGRs blanked, silicon IC hoses.
2010-2013: Disco II Td5 of 2000, ACE, front Bearmach HD coils, rear SLS, GG AT2

That is about the normal mileage for some slippage / judder that can normally be solved in short term with the Dr Tranny. Also consider a fluid change, Geoff now doing those, watch out for posts or do a search.
EDIT: Just seen you location, may be a tad too far for Geoff! 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

The torque converter lockup does not happen on a cold engine or gearbox, it takes a couple of miles to reach temp threshold, then it should start to lock. Sounds normal to me.

In the IIDTool manual I read:
Quote:Transmission ECU
-Clear Adaptions Values
Gear shifting time tends to increase as internal components of a transmission wear out. This has a
negative effect on the brake clutches. The transmission ECU will adapt to counteract the effect of wear
and improve shifting.
This routine resets the adaption statistics back to factory default. After the adaption is cleared, the
transmission ECU will analyze shifting behaviors using sensors readings and compensate accordingly.
Use
The adaption reset routine is necessary when one of the following components is replaced:
• Transmission oil.
• Any component inside the transmission.
• The transmission ECU is replaced with a used one.
Some transmission ECU’s will also «learn» and adapt to your driving habits. This routine may also be
useful for someone who purchased a used vehicle and wants the transmission to shift according to his
or her driving style.
CAUTION The adaption reset routine may cause the transmission to behave
erratically over a period of time.
Is it advisable to do this gearbox adaptation clear?
