Insurance for SWMBO's new car. |
|
SWMBO's new car , so I am told, left the factory on the 17th December 2013. It has not yet surfaced at the dealership!! This has given me a lot of time to investigate insurance. I have used the local broker A well known company and also various websites from which a leading chain store came up to the top. I now have two quotes, one from each source, with the same insurance company, very minor differences i.e. amount of excess etc. but a difference of over £100 in the premium. Am I missing something about these quotes when I compare them? I appreciate that the broker adds an charge but it cannot account for such a large difference, or can it?[/b]

It really really pays to shop around.....definately without a doubt confused.com has saved me thousands...
Our JCW works I've got fully comp at £197 with M&S..... There was cheaper ones but wanted to go with a branded insurance! It is underwritten by Axa who have consistently been the best value and virtually my entire fleet has been insured independently with Axa coming out the best deal....
Always always revisit confused at renewal time though because each insurer will inflate their policy prices on renewal knowing most people cant be asked to shop around and just reinsure with the same company.
It ends up renewing with Axa but at the on line rate not their suggested renewal price....
